While the Glamdeva team are all about getting creative with makeup looks, we are equally as impressed by strong women who aren’t afraid to go makeup free; women who are happy and comfortable in their own, natural skin.
This is why we were intrigued to learn more about Celine Dion’s latest music video; a video that makes all kinds of comments about women and their relationships with themselves.
Called “Imperfections” the worldwide singing sensation bared all, removing layer after layer of makeup until she was completely makeup free.
Making a real statement on being middle-aged and beautiful, the message of the song is about embracing imperfections.
Directed by Gabriel Coutu-Dumont, Celine Dion poses in various dresses and is heavily made up. Ripping away the layers, she then addresses her imprecations in the mirror, saying:
“They’re part of me, and you are, too/ And I don’t really want to choose/ Can you love them the way that I love you?”

Makeup free campaigns
While the media is constantly criticised for presented unrealistic depictions of beauty, we are seeing an emergence of celebs going makeup free and using their position of fame responsibly.
90’s singer and actress, Billie Piper, was recently praised for going makeup-free on the front cover of Stylist Magazine.
This then encouraged a whole host of Love Island ladies to follow in her footsteps, taking off their makeup for a professional photoshoot.
Joanna said:
“I loved doing this shoot. I wanted to show I was a normal, everyday girl.
“It’s OK not to be smothered in foundation all the time and a few spots won’t scare anyone off.
“I want to inspire other girls to be confident without make-up, too.
