Having a long-lasting lipstick is every girl’s dream. No one wants to bother every 10 minutes checking if there is anything left on the lips. However, even the long-lasting lipsticks tend to leave a mark or color on everything your lip touches. Here we mean glasses, clothes, jackets, phones and even on the teeth. Whenever we are eating or drinking something, the lipstick usually gets erased or smudged around the face. All of us are struggling into finding the way of wearing that vibrant color without even smallest smudge. So, if you are having this kind of problem, then we have 5-step suggestion that you might try in order to keep your lipstick intact as long as possible. The tools that you will need for these 5 steps are lip liner, lipstick and loose powder – nothing else.
Step 1
In the whole makeup routine, it is important to know the steps of applying the makeup. This means that the lipstick goes last, just before you hit the door. Do your complete makeup – foundation, eyes, brows and cheeks and leave out the lipstick.
Step 2
When all the makeup is done, is time for the lips. Start with the lip liner. It should be as sharp as possible. With the pointy part of the pencil, shape your lips. This will give them definition. After you have done this carefully, with the same lip liner, fill the lips a bit, just like you are using a lipstick. This will provide more coverage. The use of the lip liner is suggested because it makes the lipstick last longer.
Step 3
Next in the process is the loose powder. Choose a powder that has a bit of color, it’s silky and has matte finish. Using a fluffy brush, apply the powder all over your lips. The product should not be dusted over. Its main purpose is to set it so that the lipstick will stay fixated.
Step 4
The final step in the process of applying lipstick is in fact the application of the lipstick itself. The lipstick should be applied over the powdered mouth, starting from the Cupid’s bow, all the way to the outer corners. On the bottom lip, swipe with the lipstick in direction left to right, then right to left. You can also use the lipstick to lightly make lines on the lips, just enough to even the colors. After the lipstick is applied, dust the powder again over, to fixate it better.
Step 5
The trick into making the lipstick stay longer is into layering. That means that you should repeat all of the steps above again – the lip liner, the powder and the lipstick. It will extend the longevity and boldness.
It is important to know that for this to work you should focus on matte and creamy-texture lipsticks. These are more long-lasting, oppose to the hydrating ones which are too glossy. Test it on a glass or mug and see the results yourself!
