We are finally Free…
It’s been a tough few months to say the least, and as we begin to return to what is being referred to as our ‘new normal’ one thing for sure is that we are all rearing to go with a new found confidence and determined attitude. Some of you may have embarked on a weight loss journey, a new skincare regime, or even started your own business! Whatever it maybe we are all looking to show off our achievements post lockdown.
Return to Makeup Post Lockdown
Studies carried out during lockdown identified that even though we had nowhere to go, wearing makeup definitely made some of us feel good. And now that restrictions have almost completely relaxed, most will be looking to take advantage of our new found freedom with a sense of fun and glamour. With face masks being made compulsory recently, there will definitely be more of an emphasis on making the eyes stand out.
Neon Colours Are Becoming A Steady Trend!
We think that bright and bold looks will be a stable trend through the coming months and predict that neon shades will become staple pieces in your makeup bag. The options are endless, from blazing yellow in the inner corners or glowing green eyeliner to electric shades of lilac, whatever your preference you will be sure to stand out from the crowd! Experimenting with colour can be empowering as well as liberating, the good thing about makeup is that it is not permanent so changing it up on a day to day basis puts you in full control!
Hair We Go Again!
Hairdressers around the UK have been inundated post lockdown, and some have even changed their trading hours to accommodate the huge influx of individuals wanting to change up their hair looks. There is nothing more refreshing and satisfying than a much-needed trim and a colour top-up or complete colour change.
Do Blondes Have More Fun?
What we have noticed is that lots of you are opting for blonde balayage or chunky blonde highlights. Whilst balayage has been a trend for sometime now, soft brown almost autumn colour strokes have remained quite popular. Post lockdown the balayage trend has most definitely remained but with significant popularity of blonde highlights which adds depth and provides a starker contrast. We don’t think that the age-old question “do blondes have more fun” will ever truly be answered but for now, all we can say is that enjoy being confident with colours and just embrace the ‘new’ you!
