Who doesn’t love a good blusher? The right product can brighten up your face, create a healthy glow and make you look years younger. But if you choose the wrong shade for your skin tone, it’s a disaster waiting to happen. So how can you be sure you’re getting it right? Here’s our guide to the best blushers to suit any colouring.
Fair skin
If you’re fair skinned, anything too dark will have you looking like a china doll. So keep things natural with light shades of pink, peach and coral. If you have a cool undertone, soft pinks will create a natural look, while corals and peaches will add something a little more dramatic. For warm undertones, the reverse tends to be true.
Medium skin
If you have medium skin, you can get away with a wider range of shades – although you still want to avoid anything too dark. These complexions work great with deep peach, mauve and rich pink colours, whether you want to create a natural or more polished look. For cool undertones, try the pink and mauve end of the spectrum for a relaxed, healthy glow, and peach for a pop of colour. Again, for warm undertones, the opposite should apply.
Dark skin
Those with dark skin look best in shades of berry, warm browns, fuschia and tangerine. If you’ve got cool undertones, a natural look can be achieved with berry and fuschia blushers, while tangerine hues will create more of a statement look. On the other hand, those with warm undertones should stick to warm browns for an everyday glow and pinks and berries to add a splash of colour.
